The history of Conwy Castle

The medieval town of Conwy
At the same time as the castle was built, the town of Conwy began to take shape. Surrounded by a near-complete ring of medieval walls, the town was carefully planned and protected.
The Conwy Town Walls are still largely intact today, stretching for over a kilometre and offering views across the town, castle and coastline. Walking along them gives a real sense of Conwy’s history and how important defence once was here.
